AACD Past President, Jeff Golub-Evans, Remembered For Work as a Fine Artist

Best known for the now-iconic AACD Celebration of Excellence statuette, past president Jeff Golub-Evans is being remembered for his work as a productive fine artist.  Dr. Golub-Evans, who died Aug. 1, 2013, had his work featured in a show called "Im 'Print" at The Gallery at Hunt Hill Farm in New Milford, CT. The Sunday, August 21, edition of the New York Times posted a notice about the artist's showing and featured an image of Evans' "Big Apple" linocut. Dentist-and-artist Evans also opened his studio in Warren for a lino and woodcut hands-on demonstration.

"In truth, there is not any art piece, gallery show, or museum placement that I have done," said Evans, "that has meant as much to me--or that gave me as much joy--as the creation of the award for an Academy which nurtured me, guided me, taught me, and befriended me through the years. I am forever grateful that I was given the opportunity to give back to the Academy which has done so much for us all."
